Thank you to The Goddard Group Foundation for helping fund our SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM!
  • A past recipient recently wrote: "I just wanted to thank everyone in The May Court Club of Oakville for supporting students who are in need. It's people like you who keep us going, make us feel that we are doing it right, and let us know that there are always people who are willing to support us."

MAY COURT CLUB'S PUPPET PROGRAM

The May Court Puppeteers have been performing shows at elementary schools in the Oakville area for over 30 years.  This free community service has been educating our youth on various topics such as street safety, manners, and bullying. In October, 2012, we launched a new show What Would You Do?”.  This show educates and empowers students, offering the tools for various types and situations of bullying. Our show has captured a lot of media attention locally and has received interest from the Family Channel. The House of Commons has recognized our Puppeteers by issuing certificates acknowledging our valuable contribution to our community. The May Court Puppeteers typically perform 24-26 shows a year, reaching close to 2000 students/families.

  • November 27, 2013 - Our Puppet Show was featured in OAKVILLE.COM - read about our celebrated puppet show and view photos of our puppeteers and puppets click here.
  • May 29, 2013 - watch CITY NEWS TORONTO Videographer Audra Brown's segment on the May Court Club of Oakville using puppetry to teach children about anti-bulling - view by clicking here.

MAY COURT CLUB'S LUNCH BOX PROGRAM

We all know that a well-nourished child will participate and learn better during their school day. Our program provides non-perishable foods as a supplement for children in elementary schools in Oakville and Burlington, who arrive to school without a lunch.

The May Court Club of Oakville Lunch Box Program has been in operation since 1991 and currently delivers to over 44 schools. Our May Court Volunteers purchase and deliver these nutritious non-perishable foods to our local schools on a regular basis.

Some testimonials:
  • October 2013: "The Lighthouse for Grieving Children is grateful and proud to have received repeated financial support from The May Court Club of Oakville over the past years. Your investment in our local community gives hope and encouragement to many local families who are coming to terms with the loss of one of theirs. Your investment as a lead sponsor also allows us to look ahead at the future when our organization will be bigger, stronger, and able to make a difference in even more lives. Thank you for your care, your concern, and your investment in the lives of local children, teens and their families". Kindly, Britta Martini-Miles, Executive Director, The Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children.
  • December 2012: Read about Wellspring honouring The May Court Club of Oakville - excerpt: ".......The May Court Club of Oakville has donated a significant amount of money, and the amount will total in excess of $150,000. Liz Thomson and Dede Hacking, both long-time May Court members, have successfully been scheduling May Court volunteers for the past 12 years in support of Wellspring’s good works. The May Court Club of Oakville is a service club; and its members have been volunteering countless hours in support to the Wellspring programs since the year 2000...."
